Salesforce Pre-Sales Architect

About the Role

 

The Salesforce Pre-Sales Architect plays a critical role in supporting the sales team as the primary technical expert throughout the pre-sales cycle. This role involves engaging with prospective clients to understand their business needs and designing tailored Salesforce solutions aligned with their objectives. You will guide clients through the Salesforce ecosystem, demonstrate the value of proposed solutions, and ensure that recommendations are technically robust, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the pre-sales process by providing expert-level guidance on Salesforce architecture and solutions. Offer technical direction on integrations, custom development, and overall system design.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients and prospects to understand their business requirements and translate them into effective Salesforce solutions. Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout the sales cycle.
  • Solution Design: Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CPQ, and custom implementations, ensuring alignment with client needs and best practices.
  • Solution Presentations: Conduct product demonstrations, solution workshops, and executive presentations, clearly articulating how Salesforce can address client challenges and achieve business goals.
  • Proposal Development: Partner with the sales team to develop compelling proposals, including scope definition, timelines, resource planning, and pricing, balancing both technical feasibility and business outcomes.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC): Develop and execute Proof of Concept (PoC) scenarios to demonstrate Salesforce capabilities and validate the proposed solution.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, IT leaders, and business owners, ensuring strategic alignment and long-term engagement.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with delivery teams, architects, and senior consultants to ensure seamless transition from pre-sales to project execution.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest Salesforce technologies, industry trends, and best practices to provide innovative and competitive solutions.
  • Sales Enablement: Support the sales team with technical expertise and contribute to the development of sales collateral such as solution briefs, case studies, and white papers.

Qualifications

 
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Salesforce solutions design and implementation with at least 3 years in a pre-sales architect role, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Salesforce Expertise: Deep understanding of Salesforce products, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CPQ, and Lightning Platform. Certification in Salesforce (e.g., Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, Application Architect, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Solution Design & Architecture: Proven experience in architecting Salesforce solutions that integrate with third-party systems and meet complex business requirements.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including CIOs, CTOs, and business leaders.
  • Pre-Sales Experience: Experience conducting client workshops, requirement gathering, solution scoping, and delivering compelling product demos and presentations.
  • Consulting Mindset: Ability to think strategically, analyze business needs, and propose solutions that provide long-term value.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of integration, data migration, and security best practices within the Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, delivery, and product teams.
  • Agile Experience: Familiarity with Agile methodologies for project delivery is a plus.

Preferred Qualification

 
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect or related advanced certifications.
  • Experience working with multinational clients and large-scale Salesforce implementations.
  • Experience with multiple industries (e.g., healthcare, financial services, retail) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira, Confluence.
  • Knowledge of complementary technologies such as MuleSoft, Heroku, or AWS integrations.
