From Crest to the Core Part 3 – The Foundation for Collaboration
In today's fast-paced business environment, it is more important than ever for companies to prioritize the well-being of their employees. In order to attract and retain top talent, organizations must not only offer competitive salaries and benefits, but also foster a culture that values the health, happiness, and work-life balance of its team members and addresses these very human needs. In our last two blogs, we have talked about our people-first approach covered by our two core values, which highlighted the kind of talent we look for and then our focus on creating safe & inclusive spaces for our team members. But here we are going to focus on another element which we believe is essential to lay down the foundation of collaboration.
Aiming to Collaborate
Support each other in achieving better health, happiness, and work-life balance, while having a lot of fun together.
We are not shy to include something not often covered by organizational core values – having fun. We take the saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” seriously. We are always looking for ways to create a workplace that is not only productive and efficient, but also enjoyable and fulfilling for everyone involved. When work practices support individuals in their efforts to maintain a healthy work-life balance, they are more likely to be engaged, motivated, and committed to their work, and be creative, innovative, and resilient in the face of challenges - all of which are ingredients for healthy, vibrant and sustained collaboration. Our belief is that when people are energized and happy in a group or space, their capacity to be open, share and offer support grows.
To promote employee wellbeing, happiness and an element of fun at work, we have several practices in place:
Employee Wellbeing Webinars
We offer access to employee wellbeing webinars that promote physical activity, healthy eating, and stress management. These webinars are conducted by experts on topics like preventing digital burnout, managing stress, understanding office ergonomics, building the habit of meditation, etc.
Flexi-Glen Model
We offer work-from-home flexibility, and allow flexible work schedules, while also placing value on in-office collaboration, engagement, ideation, & innovation to help employees balance their work with their personal responsibilities.
Meet-ups & Hobby Clubs
Having fun together as a team is critical for building resilient teams. When employees feel connected to their colleagues and enjoy spending time together, they are more likely to be collaborative, supportive, and productive. This can take many different forms, from team-building activities and social events to company-sponsored volunteer opportunities and community service projects. Our Infoglen Hobby Clubs, like the Travelling Club, CSR Club, Book Club, and others, allow employees to disconnect from work and engage in activities they enjoy, while also fostering a sense of community and belonging within the workplace.
Ultimately, the core value of supporting each other in achieving better health, happiness, and work-life balance, while having a lot of fun together is about creating a workplace that values the whole person. It is about recognizing that employees are not just cogs in a machine, but individuals with unique needs and aspirations, who have a lot to offer to each other and the larger organization. By prioritizing the well-being of our team members, we can create a culture of collaboration, engagement and innovation that benefits everyone involved.
