Leadership is a Marathon and Not a Sprint
As I celebrate 11 years in the industry, today is a moment of reflection on my career—one that has been built on transformation, growth, and the lessons learned at every stage. From my early days as a developer to my current role in presales leadership, this journey has taught me invaluable lessons, both about my profession and about myself.
Thinking Like an Owner
One of the most important insights I’ve gained during my career is the value of treating the company you work for as your own. When you think like an owner, you stop just doing a job—you become invested in the company’s success, and you start making decisions based on the long-term impact. You take responsibility for outcomes, anticipate challenges, and actively look for ways to improve the overall direction of the business.
This owner mindset has not only helped me contribute more meaningfully to my teams and projects but has also fostered a sense of fulfillment that goes beyond achieving individual success. It makes you think beyond your day-to-day tasks and take a proactive role in shaping the company’s vision and goals.

Wearing Multiple Hats: From Developer to Head of Presales
Transitioning from a developer to a leadership role in presales and strategy has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It required me to expand my skill set, shift my mindset, and embrace new responsibilities. Moving from building code to developing customer relationships and strategic solutions involved stepping outside my comfort zone and balancing multiple leadership roles.
Taking on different hats—whether it was translating technical solutions to clients, building sales strategies, or managing teams—It has given me a broader view of how businesses operate and how we can drive growth. Every transition, every new role brought its own challenges, but it also taught me the importance of adaptability, collaboration, and the need for continuous learning.
The most important lesson in this part of the journey is that leadership is not just about titles. It’s about taking initiative, inspiring others, and making decisions that move the company forward. A good leader understands the importance of both the big picture and the details, ensuring that every part of the business works in harmony.
The Leadership Journey
As I reflect on my career, I recognize that leadership is a journey—one that evolves over time. It’s about learning to manage your own growth while empowering others to grow alongside you. Leadership is about being adaptable, understanding your team's strengths, and building a culture that supports collaboration, innovation, and growth.
From the technical side of software development to leading strategic discussions with customers, my journey has taught me that the best leaders are those who remain humble, open to feedback, and always ready to learn. Being in leadership means constantly evolving, not just in terms of skill sets but also in how you motivate, communicate, and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
For anyone on a similar journey, my advice is simple: Always think like an owner, embrace change, and never stop learning. Leadership is a marathon, not a sprint, and the key is to remain focused on the long-term vision while taking consistent action.
Here’s to continuing the journey and looking forward to what lies ahead.

Success Story
Streamlining Partner Sales Communication for Rapid7
About The Client
Rapid7 is a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, recognized for its innovation in threat detection and incident response. As a trusted partner in helping organizations improve their security posture, Rapid7 delivers advanced analytics and automation to reduce attack surfaces and mitigate cybersecurity threats.
Problem
Cumbersome Communication Loops: Slow and inefficient communication between partners and the client’s internal teams.
Inefficient Quotation Process: Manual and time-consuming quotation generation, leading to delays and errors.
Limited Access to Key Information: Partners lacked timely access to critical data and documents, slowing down the sales process.
Inconsistent Partner Onboarding: Slow and inefficient onboarding processes, delaying new partner productivity.
Security and Authentication Issues: Complex authentication procedures that created access and security challenges.
Poor Sales Visibility: Lack of a unified view of partner sales activities, limiting tracking, performance assessments, and proactive support.
Long Deal Closure Times: Inefficient partner interaction and manual processes caused significant delays in deal closures.
The Solution
Partner Portal Creation: Infoglen developed a centralized partner portal using Salesforce’ Experience Cloud, providing a single-window platform for partners to efficiently manage their sales activities and interactions with the client.
Role-Based Access: The portal was designed with role-based access, allowing partners to quickly retrieve relevant information, reducing time spent searching for data and enhancing operational efficiency.
Single Sign-On (SSO): Infoglen implemented Single Sign-On (SSO), streamlining authentication for partners and improving both security and user experience.
Self-Service Quotation Management: Partners were empowered to independently create and manage customer quotations within the portal, reducing reliance on manual processes and accelerating the sales cycle. This led to a 30% faster deal closure rate, as partners could respond to inquiries more quickly.
Case Management Integration: Infoglen integrated a case management system into the portal, enabling partners to raise and track support cases, ensuring issues were resolved in a timely manner.
Increased Sales Visibility: Partners gained a 360-degree view of customer accounts and sales pipelines, enabling them to make more informed decisions, contribute to a 27% increase in revenue, and improve overall business growth.

Akash Oswal, our Associate Manager - HR from Pune, shared insights from his personal life
Akash Oswal
IB: What is the sweetest memory from your childhood days?
AO: The sweetest memory is from the monsoon season in Pune during the 90s. It was less populated and had a lot of greenery. As a kid, I used to play in the rain with my friends. Hailstorms were frequent, and we would collect the hail in vessels. We then made different ice desserts and enjoyed them together.
IB: What is a hidden talent you have?
AO: I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime—couches, cars, even during a quick 5-minute break.
IB: If you could get a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?
AO: I’d learn to read minds, because knowing what people really mean when they say 'interesting' would be a game-changer.
IB: What is your time management mantra?
AO: You can be more productive during the working hours by following the four quadrants of time management, which is dividing all the tasks (professional + Personal) into four categories of importance which are as follow:
A. Urgent & important - Highly critical and important tasks should be taken up first thing in the morning.
B. Urgent but not important - Urgent new work which is not so important but due to some time sensitivity it needs to be taken care of first.
C. Important but not urgent - Important but not urgent work for which you can plan and schedule activities to meet the deadlines.
D. Not important & not urgent - distractions, chit-chat, entertainment, social media, etc.
IB: What is your favorite pastime?
AO: Exploring new music and creating playlists for every possible mood or scenario is my favorite way to unwind. Also spending time on Youtube watching shows like India's got Talent just makes my day.
IB: What if you had six months of paid vacation? Where would you travel?
AO: I’d do a world heritage marathon, visiting as many UNESCO sites as possible—from the pyramids of Egypt to the Great Barrier Reef.
IB: What are the kind of books you like to read or movies you like to watch?
AO: I love movies & series and I often ask people about what they are watching. I like crime, thriller, suspense, sci-fi, action, mythological and historical genres in Movies and In books. I like to read both fictional/non-fictional categories with philosophy, psychology, crime, biography, short stories, and many more other categories. I like exploring new books and movies.
IB: What's the one thing you like about Infoglen?
AO: I love a lot of things about Infoglen, right from the culture and environment to the people and practices. Infoglen is now like a family to me and I just feel proud, honored and loved at the same time.
