Why & How to Create a 'No Follow Up' Culture

In today’s VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) world, ability to execute tasks efficiently and effectively is of paramount importance.

While many teams prefer follow up culture to ensure tasks are completed, a huge number of industry leaders support & desire a "No Follow up" culture to avoid a Lost in Limbo environment.

It calls for greater accountability, and a proactive as well as effective workforce who understands everything about this Black Hole of communication.

A 'No Follow up' culture is comprehended to mean once any task is assigned, it will be completed on time, without the necessity for reminders & in agreed timelines and with benchmark standards. So while an employee takes ownership, it brings in a sense of trust amongst the stakeholders & promotes efficiency.

Why should we avoid Follow-Ups?

  1. Improving Overall Productivity:
Follow Up Culture: Time consuming & distracting both stakeholders impacting productivity.
No Follow Up Culture: Time & Energy saving for more strategic tasks & smoother task execution.

  2. Building Trust & Respect:
Follow Up Culture: Lack of trust and Loss of Respect
No Follow Up Culture: Trusting employees by empowering them to be more engaged & motivated.

  3. Promoting Accountability:
Follow Up Culture: Relying on Reminders to complete tasks
No Follow Up Culture: Onus lies with employees ensuring more accountability.

  4. Driving discipline & commitment:
Follow Up Culture: Less Organized and the missing Self-driven approach
No Follow Up Culture: Not being chased while having committed to deliver, brings in the discipline, & promotes a strong work ethic.

What is a 'No Follow-up' Culture?

How to Implement It

  1. You can be the example & inspire others by being accountable in your own work, avoiding unnecessary follow-ups.

  2. Leverage on relevant tools & resources to manage your tasks efficiently.

  3. Being an ambassador of Accountability, Ownership & Respect for other Individual’s time.

  4. Call-Out for clear communication & expectations during meetings & internal communication, for NO need of reminders for assigned tasks.

  5. Recognizing efforts of organized & disciplined employees who adopt & promote ‘no follow up’ culture, encouraging others to do so as well.

  6. The need to timely resolve bottlenecks & raising flag in time to address or apprise non-compliance can help in winning the much-required trust of stakeholders avoiding unnecessary follow ups and contributing to a stronger 'no follow up' culture.

Conclusion

No follow up culture requires a fundamental shift in mindset & behaviour from both leadership & employees. This helps you become a trustworthy and reliable work partner and can result in better collaboration & earning mutual respect. While the transition can be challenging, a ‘no follow up’ culture can be a booster shot in individual excellence as well as be a contribution to the company’s success.

awana-logo.png

About The Client

Awana, a leading non-profit organization, aimed to enhance its data analysis and reporting capabilities. The organization needed a comprehensive solution to integrate various data sources and provide actionable insights to improve its operations. Infoglen proposed implementing Salesforce's CRM Analytics (CRMA) to address Awana's needs.

Problem

bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png

Disparate Data Sources: Awana had data spread across multiple platforms, making it difficult to create a cohesive view of their operations.

Complex Salesforce Customizations: The customized Salesforce environment added layers of complexity to reporting, making it challenging to generate comprehensive reports.

Limited Predictive Insights: Awana lacked the tools to leverage predictive analytics, which are essential for proactive decision-making.

User Adoption: Ensuring that staff could easily adopt and use the new analytics tools without extensive training was crucial.

Solution

bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png
bulletpoiint-black.png

Customer 360 View: CRMA provided a "one pane of glass" view of customer data, integrating service, sales, activity, and revenue data on an account page.

External Data Integration: CRMA allowed the combination of external data with Salesforce data within dynamic dashboards, providing a holistic view of operations.

Custom Environment Adaptation: CRMA's flexibility and powerful analytics capabilities made it possible to handle Awana's complex Salesforce customizations.

Predictive Insights: CRMA leveraged machine learning to provide predictive insights, guiding users on the best possible next steps and enhancing productivity.

What's Cooking?

Coriander Ginger Paneer

By Anshu’s Food Odyssey

A burst of flavor in every bite! This quick and easy dish combines the zesty freshness of coriander with the warmth of ginger, creating a delightful paneer-based treat.

whatscooking-august-2024.png

Ingredients

  • Paneer (Cottage Cheese, cubed) - 250 grams

  • Thick curd/yogurt (nicely whisked) - 1 cup

  • Fresh cream - 1 tbsp

  • Coriander paste - 1 tbsp

  • Ginger paste - 1 to 2 tsp

  • Refined flour - 1 tsp

  • Chopped coriander - a handful

  • Green chilies (chopped) - 1 tsp

  • Salt - as per taste

  • Black peppercorns - 3 to 4

  • Cloves - 2 to 3

  • Bay leaf - 1

  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp

  • Black pepper powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp

  • Sugar - 1 to 2 tsp

  • Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp

Directions

  • Whisk together curd, coriander paste, ginger paste, refined flour, turmeric, coriander powder, black pepper powder and garam masala powder. Keep aside.

  • Heat oil in a wok and add cumin seeds, black peppercorns, cloves and bay leaf. Once they change color, add chopped green chilies. Fry for 30 seconds, after which add the yogurt batter.

  • Keep stirring the yogurt for 3 to 4 minutes. If the gravy seems too thick, add some water to adjust the consistency. Let it boil for 2 to 3 minutes and then add the paneer cubes. Let it cook for another 3 to 4 minutes covered with lid.

  • Add sugar and salt; and give a good mix. Switch off the flame after a minute and add in the cream. Mix well.

  • Just before serving, garnish with a handful or chopped coriander and ginger julienne.

Shubham Tambi, our Senior Product Developer from Delhi, shared insights from his personal life

shubham-tambi.png

Shubham Tambi

IB: What is the sweetest memory from your childhood days?

ST: I can't describe only one memory from my childhood as the sweetest; it's the best part of my journey, filled with amazing moments. Playing Chupan-Chupai (hide and seek) with my cousins, eagerly waiting for the Kulfi Wala, and insisting on being the ‘father’ in the pretend play of Ghar-Ghar with my sisters are all cherished.

I still recall my grandparents scolding my tuition teacher for forcing me to study, my father gifting me my first video game, which brought all my friends together during summer holidays, and my mother protecting me from my elder sisters' pranks.

IB: What is your time management mantra?

ST:  My simple time management rules, which took me a while to implement, have yielded the best results over the past ten months. Here they are:

Health First: Prioritize your physical and mental health above everything else, including work, friends, and even family when necessary. Exercise regularly, eat healthy, get enough sleep, and avoid alcohol and other toxic substances.

Say No to Social Media: Unless it provides financial benefits, avoid Reels, Shorts, and other videos. They are highly addictive, manipulative, and waste a lot of time and natural thinking abilities.

Choose Your Work Wisely: Always do what's right, not what's easy or comforting. Challenge your brain daily with new risks, skills, and people, and strive to work efficiently in less time.

Value Happy Times with Family, Friends, and Hobbies: Spend weekends and at least two hours a day with people you love and activities you enjoy.

IB: What is a hidden talent you have?

ST: A hidden talent of mine is stand-up comedy, but I only perform at small open mic events. If my parents ever heard my dark jokes, they might remove me from the family property!

IB: If you could get a new skill in 10 minutes, what would it be?

ST: Playing the violin.

IB: What is your favourite pastime?

ST: I enjoy sitting in public places, observing people, and guessing the life stories they carry with them.

IB: What if you had six months of paid vacation? Where would you travel?

ST: I would like to travel across India, exploring its diverse cultures, cuisines, communities, practices, religions, architecture, and people.

IB: What are the kind of books you like to read or movies you like to watch?

ST: Though I'm not much of a book person, I like books like Stephen King’s The Shining and IT. I like horror and thriller when it comes to movie too.

IB: What's the one thing you like about Infoglen?

ST: There are many aspects of Infoglen that I appreciate, but what stands out the most is its commitment to providing a healthy work-life balance for employees. Infoglen's policies are highly employee-friendly, which not only enhances employee satisfaction but also boosts business outcomes. Infoglen handles this balance exceptionally well.
